- Turn the iron to the middle or high temperature setting,
- Iron the side of the bag/jacket to make sure it's warm,
- Place the patch where you want to attach it and over a cloth or a towel (so you don't burn the patch);
- Make a few rounds of ironing the patch on.
Iron on patches have a layer of plastic backing with a thin layer of heat activated glue rubbed on it. Do not remove the plastic backing from the patches even if you are sewing them on. They help keep the embroidery together.
